Getting and keeping good members: the membership process

This workshop is a basic primer for those involved in filling co-op units with suitable applicants. We will review the membership process, focusing on ways to update and streamline it and reduce demands on busy volunteers.

Topics include:

  •      Governing documents, including policies and procedures
  •      Roles and responsibilities of the board, committees and staff
  •      Making effective use of staff and volunteers
  •      Welcoming and integrating new members.

You should never have to suffer a vacancy loss due to problems in your member selection process.

If your co-op is in a tight rental market, consider taking the workshop on “Membership and marketing – the new reality”.
