Leadership that earns member involvement

We all prefer activities we find rewarding — it's human nature. And it's no different in co-ops. If our experience in a co-op community is rewarding, we want to stay involved.

Creating that kind of experience for our members may be the biggest challenge we face as leaders. Communities have to earn their members' involvement before they get it consistently. It all starts with us. The good news is that we can do it. And if we do it really well, we may have to knock out a wall in our meeting rooms just to hold all the keen members!
