2023 Island Education Day Facilitators
At CHF BC, our commitment to fostering a sense of belonging is at the heart of everything we do. Through our partnerships, advocacy work, programs, services, and decision-making processes, we strive to create a supportive community for our members throughout British Columbia.
We are thrilled to have this team of talented facilitators leading our sessions at our 2024 Island Education Day. Their expertise and experience provide valuable insights to help create a strong sense of belonging in our communities.
Grant Haddock
Grant Haddock is the founder of Haddock & Company, a law firm providing valuable legal solutions to housing co-ops, strata corporations, and contractors.
He was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1992. His core areas of practice are co-operative housing law, strata property law, residential and commercial tenancy, human rights, privacy and construction law.
Grant has acted for numerous housing providers and construction companies, appearing for them at all levels of court and at various tribunals. He has been a course leader and frequent speaker at educational conferences sponsored by industry leaders, including CHF BC.
Grant will be one of the facilitators for Fireside chat: STOP! at the 2024 Island Education Day.
Robert (Bob) Milne
Robert (Bob) Milne has been practicing law in Victoria as a general solicitor since 1975 and is a senior partner of JB Lawyers LLP.
He advises and represents businesses, non-profit organizations and individuals in areas of corporate (including society and co-operative), commercial, real estate development, conveyancing, wills, trusts and estate law.
Bob will be one of the facilitators for Fireside chat: STOP! at the 2024 Island Education Day.
Lindsey Murphy
Lindsey Murphy is a co-op services coordinator with CHF BC where she provides member co-ops with advice, guidance, and resources on co-op related matters.
She brings many different perspectives with her to her work with CHF BC. As a member in a housing co-op herself and former housing co-op manager, she understands the co-op experience, many benefits, and challenges that members and boards face.
As an advocate for affordable, non-profit housing Lindsey has served on boards and committees committed to implementing creative and sustainable solutions to the affordable housing shortage at the federal level while organizing grassroots advocacy locally. Lindsey is a strong believer in mutual aid and co-operation between individuals and organizations to build resilient communities that come together during times of difficulty.
Lindsey will be the moderator for Fireside chat: STOP! at the 2024 Island Education Day.
Pamphinette Buisa
Pamphinette Buisa is the Managing Advocate at Vancouver Island Human Rights Coalition (VIHRC) helping to uphold and promote human rights.
Pamphinette applies intersectional and decolonial approaches to her work, promoting restorative justice and community healing. She has a background as a consultant and community organizer, working extensively with disenfranchised communities, including but not limited to people who are incarcerated, sex workers, unhoused individuals, youth, 2SLGBTQ+ communities, BIPOC communities, and people who use substances.
Pamphinette holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and social justice, as well as a diploma in social science with math. She has several years of experience in educating and facilitating educational workshops and sessions for various demographics.
Pamphinette will be the facilitator for Human Rights in Co-ops at the 2024 Island Education Day.
