CHF BC began exploring a Community Land Trust in 1993, building on the experience of housing land trusts in other parts of the country, the UK, the United States and elsewhere.
The Community Land Trust is seeing rapid growth since 2015, and Tiffany Duzita, Director of Development, is very active in pursuing new co-op development. The Land Trust is equally at home working with existing co-ops to secure land and effect capital renewals. Land Trust staff have experience in all aspects of a project life cycle: land acquisition, feasibility and risk management, finance, design, city approvals, and construction.
