10 a.m. – 4 p.m. | Sheraton Wall Centre Vancouver and Online
Join us as we come together to reflect on the achievements of the past year and plan for the future.
The annual general meeting is the most important meeting for housing coops. It’s a members’ opportunity to learn about the work that CHF BC has been doing in the last year to support housing co-ops and their communities and advocate for the co-op model as one solution of permanent housing affordability using community owned assets.
Governance is the cornerstone of sound management of housing co-ops and members will elect new directors to the board to shape the direction of the co-op housing movement in BC.
Learn about what to expect at the meeting in our orientation video.
We know how important it is for our members to have a chance to connect. We are happy to offer our AGM both in person and online, so all co-op members can have the opportunity to have their say and take part in the decision-making of their housing co-op.
The co-op and community housing sectors are facing new realities and challenges. We are compelled more than ever to innovate.
In this keynote, senior staff at CHF BC will share how co-ops are adapting through sustainable practices and the inevitable digital transformation. We’ll hear how different shared housing communities in the United Kingdom, Australia, USA and Korea are evolving to embrace innovation and respond to the needs of their members. And we’ll learn how the recently launched Canadian Network of Community Land Trusts is strengthening the community housing sector across Canada to preserve and develop co-op and community-based housing.
Governance is the cornerstone of sound management of housing co-operativess and members will elect new directors to the board to shape the direction of the co-op housing movement in BC at this year’s Annual General Meeting on Sunday, November 19th.
Members of the Board of Directors are responsible for the governance of our federation, providing overall direction for the CHF BC group of social enterprises, including approval and evaluation of CHF BC’s strategic priorities, policies, and budget.
This year, there are 6 candidates for five at-large board positions to be filled. Each position is for a two year term.
You can learn about our candidates on our candidates page, then make sure you register to attend this important event so you can share our successes and hear the report on CHF BC’s work representing housing co-ops and inspiring, thriving co-operative communities.
If you are attending in person, we hope that you will stay for the Mix and Mingle immediately following the formal meeting. We know how important it is for our members and staff to have a chance to connect with each other!
