Inclusion is the extent to which diverse members of a group (society/organization) feel valued and respected.
It means an environment in which all individuals are treated fairly and respectfully; are valued for their distinctive skills, experiences, and perspectives; have equal access to resources and opportunities; and can contribute fully to the organization’s success.
Inclusion is an active, intentional, and continuous process to address inequities in power and privilege. It means authentically bringing traditionally excluded individuals and/or groups into processes, activities, and decision/policy making in a way that shares power. This process builds a respectful and diverse community that ensures welcoming spaces and opportunities to flourish for all.
