• October is Circular Economy Month
  The circular economy emphasizes practices that incorporate sharing, lending, repairing, and refurbishing for as long as possible over disposing or recycling. Learn how you and your co-op can get involved.
• Deep Energy Retrofit Funding
  CMHC’s Canada Greener Affordable Housing program supports deep energy retrofits for existing multi-unit residential buildings, with the goal of achieving near net zero emissions. Funding is available for studies as well as qualifying projects. The next window for Pre-Retrofit Funding applications opens on November 1, 2023.
• Energy Use Tracking Incentives
  Aiming for a more sustainable future for your co-op? Understand your current energy use and track the impact of changes with energy benchmarking. Co-ops that are Vancity members may also be eligible for financial incentives (while funds last).
• Vancity Non-Profit Housing Retrofit Program
  Vancity supports projects that help co-ops put their buildings on a pathway to net zero and climate resilience. Two granting streams are available to support planning as well as capital work and implementation. Eligible applicants can receive up to $99,000 to help jumpstart their projects.
• Heat Pumps & Your Co-op
  Heat pumps are becoming more common — is your co-op next? Crunch the numbers for yourself with the Canadian Climate Institute’s Heat Pump Calculator or learn more about the benefits of heat pumps.
