Are you at least 16 years old and live in a co-op within the City of Vancouver? Are you interested in reducing waste and improving recycling at your co-op? Become a Zero Waste Ambassador!
The Zero Waste Ambassador Program helps support waste diversion in multi-family buildings, including housing co-ops. The outreach program trains volunteers to engage other residents through education and recycling initiatives to reduce waste.

Equity housing co-ops can now access technical assessments, feasibility studies, and rebates through the Multi-Unit Residential Building Retrofit Program, offered in partnership by BC Hydro and the Government of BC.
Available rebates include energy efficient equipment upgrades (including heat pumps, windows, lighting, and water heating), solar panels and batteries, and EV charging infrastructure.
The program is open to equity co-ops with apartment and townhome buildings of three or more storeys. Learn more about the program and eligibility criteria.

Co-ops that are Vancity members may also be eligible for a financial incentive of up to $500. Eligible co-ops that submit required paperwork and documentation to complete benchmarking setup by April 16, 2025 can receive their incentive payment this winter.
