The City of Vancouver is offering a thermal imaging program aimed at reducing the City’s greenhouse gas emissions. Housing co-ops have successfully used thermal infrared imaging in the past to examine envelope issues, including heat loss due to poor insulation and sealing. The Agency for Co-operative Housing has confirmed that housing co-ops located within the City of Vancouver and a maximum of four storeys high are eligible to participate in the program. Interested housing co-ops that meet these two criteria should submit an e-mail application prior to the January 31, 2017 deadline. There are no costs associated with the application.To apply, your housing co-op should send an e-mail to thermal.imaging@vancouver.ca with the e-mail subject line “Opt In”.The body of the e-mail must include:a single introductory line expressing interest in the program;your co-op’s legal name;the date your co-op was built;the co-op’s physical address; and,co-op contact information (name, phone, e-mail and address of a single contact)At this stage of the process, the City of Vancouver is looking to identify buildings in greatest need, and may provide assistance regarding possible grants and rebate programs.
