On October 31, 2011, the United Nations General Assembly officially launched 2012 International Year of Co-operatives. Watch the 2012 video and see more videos from the UN webcast at the UN headquarters in New York City including the official announcement.With the slogan, “Co-operative enterprises build a better world”, the United Nations intends the International Year of Cooperatives to raise public awareness of the “…contributions of co-operative enterprises to poverty reduction, employment generation and social integration”.
