We have been asked to share this message from Waste Connections, on of our group buying partners regarding service delays due to severe winter weather.
Due to the severe cold snap we are experiencing coupled with the other winter weather conditions, that there may be service delays at customer sites. With the drastic cold temperatures, our fleet had issues starting up this morning as well as continuing to operate in some cases.
To help facilitate timely service delivery, please follow the following best practices. By following these few steps you can ensure that your co-op will have a higher probability of service completion and everyone will be kept as safe as possible.
Clear the area in and around the enclosure/bin/compactor of any snow or ice. A 20×20 area should be
cleared in front of the enclosure doors or containers as well as a path leading to where the
containers are located. If your location has containers underground, then you must have the ramp cleared
of snow + ice including a 20×20 area at the top of the ramp on level ground.
Salt the cleared 20×20 area in front of the enclosure doors or containers as well as a path leading to the
containers.
If your co-op has containers underground, salt the ramp, as well as a 20×20 area at the top of the ramp on level ground.
